CA Legislative Central Coast Caucus Releases Statement on Immigration Raids on Central Coast

The California Legislative Central Coast Caucus (CLCCC) released the following statement on ICE raids in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties: 

The California Legislative Central Coast Caucus condemns the recent ICE raids in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. These actions terrorize hardworking families, and threaten our communities. The Central Coast is the agricultural capital of the nation, creating an economic value in the billions of dollars. Going after the workforce destabilizes our economy and creates uncertainty at a time when our State is working diligently to increase affordability for all residents. The California Legislative Central Coast Caucus unequivocally stands with farmworkers, demands accountability, and calls for an end to the destructive raids.

The California Legislative Central Caucus is made up of ten elected officials representing Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties. The caucus is led by Assemblymembers Dawn Addis and Gregg Hart as co-chairs and Senator Monique Limón as the vice chair. Members of the caucus include Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas, Assemblymembers Steve Bennett, Jacqui Irwin, Gail Pellerin, and Senators Anna Caballero, John Laird, and Henry Stern.
