AB 94 - Recalls
Clarifies that the process for recalls of state officers and aligns local recalls of state officers by preventing a recalled individual from being re-appointed to fill the vacancy created.

AB 269 – Dam Safety
Makes dam removal eligible for funding through the Dam Safety and Climate Resilience Local Assistance Program.

AB 276 – Addressing Staff Shortage of Foster Care Facilities
Allows community care facilities (which includes childcare facilities and foster family homes) to address staffing shortages by allowing qualified applicants to work at a facility while waiting for out-of-state clearance.

AB 293 – Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) Board Transparency
Improves transparency by requiring GSAs to 1) publish the membership of their board on their website or appropriate local agency’s website, and 2) publish a link to the Fair Political Practices Commission’s website for access to their statements of economic interest.

AB 320 – Student School Board of Education Compensation
Some student board member's compensation negatively affected their eligibility for public assistance programs aimed to support low-income households, including Medi-Cal, CalWORKS, etc. This bill ensures that any compensation earned as a pupil member of a board of education does not negatively affect their family’s ability to receive benefits.

AB 337 – Edible Food Recovery
Builds on an existing grant program administered by CalRecycle. This bill allows the transportation of recovered edible food and makes third-party vendors eligible for grant funding.

AB 367 – Wildfire Backup Power for Ventura County
Require water purveyors in Ventura County that supply water for fire suppression in either a high risk or very high risk severity zones to have enough backup power to operate wells and pumps at normal capacity in case of a power shutoff, ensure that wells and pumps are adequately protected from fire damage, and would require a report to the Board of Supervisors assessing water delivery if home losses, or financial losses, exceed certain thresholds.

AB 372 – Wildfire Backup Power for Ventura Financing Companion Bill
Provides assistance to water purveyors to acquire permanent backup generators by allowing these purchases to qualify for Prop 4 funding.

AB 406 – CA Energy Commission Fuel Assessment
Clarifies coordination among state agencies as they prepare recommendations for regulating California transportation fuels.

AB 443 – CA Energy Commission Curtailment Study
Requires the CA Energy Commission to further study curtailments of solar energy and evaluate the utility and feasibility of transportation fuels, from petroleum to hydrogen.

AB 506 – Protecting Pets from Predatory Practices Act
Voids contracts between pet brokers and consumers that require a nonrefundable deposit or fail to disclose the original source of dog or cat prior to the deposit being issued. This bill also requires sellers to return money to the buyers within 30 days if the contract is voided.

AB 581 – State Shrub
Establishes the resilient and fire-germinated Big-Berry Manzanita (Arctostaphylos glauca) as the state shrub. Native to California, this evergreen plant produces edible fruit and grows in coastal and inland foothills.

AB 880 – Prompt Payments for NonProfits
Ensures nonprofit organizations receive on-time payments from state agencies.

AB 954 – Bike Highways
Creates a pilot for Caltrans to develop a bike highway program. Offering full separation from motor vehicles, bike highways accommodate high volumes of people traveling longer distance on bicycles (more than 3 miles) by connecting users to major destinations, employment centers, and transit hubs.

AB 1143 – Home Hardening Certification
Requires the State Fire Marshal to create a holistic home hardening certification program that incorporates home hardening techniques, materials, and defensible space in order to reduce wildfire losses.

AB 1225 – Disability Rights – State Park Access Advisory Board
Establishes an Accessibility Advisory Committee under the state’s Department of Parks & Recreation to support the Director in making informed decisions on accessibility in the state parks system.
