Assemblymember Bennett distributed 100 bags for successful adoptions. Bags included emergency preparedness materials around pets, and species-specific toys and treats. Ventura County Animal Services reported 77 animals were adopted and taken home at the end of the event.

Assemblymember Steve Bennett and Senator Monique Limón, in partnership with the Center for Nonprofit Leadership - California Lutheran University, Ventura County Community Foundation and Ventura County Office of Education, held a nonprofit town hall to provide state legislative and budget updates impacting the nonprofit community.

Assemblymember Steve Bennett honored Camarillo-based nonprofit Housing Trust Fund Ventura County as the 2024 California Nonprofit of the Year for Assembly District 38.
