The Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day

Join me and the Surfrider Foundation - Ventura County Chapter for The Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day!

Protecting the environment and tackling waste production has never been more important. Come with friends and family to clean up the beach, discuss relevant legislation and give back to our public lands. Assemblymember Steve Bennett and Surfrider Foundation-Ventura County Chapter will be cleaning the Ventura Promenade area. For more information, visit this cleanup website or call (805) 641-3700. Parking & Meeting Place: Where to park at California Street
You will check in at the Surfrider Foundation - Ventura County tent. Check in is located where California Street meets the Promenade. The Crowne Plaza Hotel has graciously offered free parking for volunteers in their valet lot! Please mention Surfrider beach cleanup when you arrive and tip when you leave.

There is additional parking available in the multi-level parking structure, but they charge and neither my office or Surfrider validate. Additionally, there are various free parking options within a short walk, including parking on Paseo De Playa (fills up quickly) or free parking off Front Street, with access to the walking bridge over the freeway to the promenade. It is requested that you fill out these two waivers to participate:

  1. Surfrider Foundation of Ventura County
  2. City of Ventura

Waivers may be submitted online, or at the check-in desk on the day of.

For all beach cleanups, please wear/bring:

  • Comfortable clothes
  • Closed toed shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Masks (if transmission levels are still ranked high in Ventura County and the pre-registration link requires masks)
  • Reusable water bottle

Surfrider Foundation - Ventura County will supply buckets, grabbers, and gloves.

Forum on Ventura County's Water Crisis & California's Drought

California's current drought conditions underscore the need to responsibly manage our water supply. As conditions worsen, it is critical that we work together to implement effective water conservation practices and establish long-term water sustainability solutions.

Join Assemblymember Bennet, Senator Monique Limón, and the County of Ventura, along with local water experts, to learn about the threats of the extreme drought conditions our state is facing and the impacts it will have in our communities. We will discuss state and local agencies' response to build water resiliency and the steps you can take to conserve water.
