SACRAMENTO, CA — Assemblywoman Christy Smith (D-Santa Clarita) and 23 of her California State Assembly colleagues called for the California Congressional delegation’s attention to the loan forgiveness period of the federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) on Friday. Currently, the loan forgiveness period sits strictly at eight weeks, which could be coming as soon as the end of the month for those who applied as soon as the funds became available.

SACRAMENTO, CA — On Tuesday, Assemblywoman Christy Smith (D-Santa Clarita) introduced Assembly Bill 2379, which qualifies disaster preparedness items for tax-free purchase. The bill would exempt the sale, storage, use or consumption of emergency preparedness items from taxes across the state of California.
