Assemblywoman Smith Celebrates Senior Appreciation Day with Resource Fair, Check Presentation

SANTA CLARITA, CA — Oct. 2 is the 38th Assembly District’s Senior Appreciation Day! Join Assemblywoman Christy Smith (D-Santa Clarita) for a resource fair, featuring local and state agencies and non-profit organizations that will be delivering resources and information to seniors, their families and caregivers. Hosted in partnership with Bella Vida (Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center), the event will also feature informational seminars regarding fraud prevention, the REAL ID, the Medi-Cal program and more.

SACRAMENTO, CA — After successfully passing both chambers of the California State Legislature, Assemblywoman Christy Smith (D-Santa Clarita) is pleased to announce that her measure, Assembly Bill (AB) 1637, has been signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom. AB 1637 works with the State Controller’s Office (SCO) to streamline the property claim process, alleviating complications and promoting more convenience for local agencies.

SACRAMENTO, CA – Senator Henry Stern’s SB 463 passed its final vote yesterday in the California State Legislature. The bill bolsters the reporting of the chemical composition of materials emitted from gas storage wells in the event of a leak and requires the Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) to review and revise its policies in response to the Aliso Canyon root cause analysis.
